London Police investigating the deadliest terror attack to hit the UK in 12 years named the perpetrator Thursday as a 52-year-old British man, Khalid Masood.
As the inquiry into the atrocity gathered pace, Prime Minister Theresa May revealed the attacker was once linked to violent extremism. He was thought to have been inspired by Islamist ideology, she said.
In an address to the House of Commons -- reconvened less than a day after it was placed in lockdown as the attack unfolded outside -- May vowed that Britain's freedoms and values would remain undiminished.
Four people died in the attack. An American man and a British woman of Spanish origin were killed when Masood rammed a rental car onto the sidewalk on Westminster Bridge.
Masood then stabbed an unarmed police officer in as he stood guard at Carriage Gates, an entrance into a cobbled courtyard frequently used by Members of Parliament and staff. A fourth victim died Thursday night after his life support was withdrawn at a hospital.
An ISIS-affiliated news agency claimed that the extremist group was behind Wednesday's outrage, which left 29 people requiring hospital treatment. Six people remain critically ill.
• Khalid Masood had previous convictions for violence but not terrorism offenses, police said.
• Kurt Cochran, from Utah, is named by family and his church as having died in the London attacks.
• Injured include 10 nationalities besides the British, among them French, South Korean and American.
• London Mayor Sadiq Khan led tributes at a vigil at Trafalgar Square, near the scene of the attack.
• Addresses were searched in Birmingham and elsewhere and a number of arrests were made.
• Queen Elizabeth II voices her "thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy" for all those affected.
The Met Office global temperature forecast suggests that 2017 will be another very warm year globally but is unlikely to be a new record due to the absence of additional warming from El Niño.The global average temperature for 2017 is expected to be between 0.63 °C and 0.87 °C above the long-term (1961-1990) average of 14.0 °C, with a central estimate of 0.75 °C.Using the 1981-2010 long-term average of 14.3 °C, the forecast range is between 0.32 °C and 0.56 °C, with a central estimate of 0.44 °C.Professor Adam Scaife, head of long-range prediction at the Met Office, said: “This forecast, which uses the new Met Office supercomputer, adds weight to our earlier prediction that 2017 will be very warm globally but is unlikely to exceed 2015 and 2016: the two warmest years on record since 1850.”
The forecast is based on the key drivers of global climate, but it doesn’t include events such as large volcanic eruptions – which can cause temporary effects. The Met Office's forecast for the 2016 global mean temperature, which had a range of 0.72 °C to 0.96 °C and a central estimate of 0.84 °C (relative to the 1961-1990 long-term average) agrees closely with the latest observations of global temperature so far this year. Data from Jan-Oct shows the global mean temperature is 0.86 °C (+/- 0.1 °C).
The forecast for 2017 – including the range of uncertainties – also places the coming year among the warmest on record. 2015 and 2016 are the warmest two years on record and are consistent with the outlook given by the Met Office in 2015.Professor Chris Folland, Met Office research fellow, said: “2016 was well forecast as the methods used detected the warming influence of the strong El Niño. However, last year's El Niño only accounts for around 0.2°C of the global mean temperature rise for 2016, when compared with the long-term average between 1961 and 1990. Increasing greenhouse gases are the main cause of warming since pre-industrial times.”

Balkrishna was born to Sumitra Devi and Jay Vallabh on July 25, 1972 in Haridwar. His parents are natives of Nepal, but his father was working in Haridwar when Balkrishna was born. He joined Kalwa Gurukul, Haryana in 1988. Here he met the person widely known today as the Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev. They soon developed a bond that shaped their destiny. After Balkrishna completed his post-graduation from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi, he travelled across India to study plants and their medicinal value, a key element of Ayurveda.
In the year 1993 he and Ramdev were living in the Himalayan caves of the Hindu pilgrim town of Gangotri, a popular haunt among holy men and ascetic near the source of India’s holiest river, the Ganges. Because of his knowledge of herbs Balkrishna started getting frequent requests from visitors for medicines for common ailments. This planted the seed for establishment of charitable organizations of ayurvedic medicines and treatment.
The duo founded an Ayurvedic Medicine manufacturing unit named Divya Pharmacy in Haridwar in 1995. Later Balkrishna helped Ramdev to set up a number of other businesses.
In early 1995, Ramdev and Balkrishna set up Divya Pharmacy under the shelter of, Swami Shankar Dev's (Ramdev's guru), ashram to make ayurvedic and herbal medicines. They had the mission to make good medicines available at fraction of their market price. As per Ramdev, they didnt have the money for registration. For the initial three years, till 1998, medicines were distributed for free. Starting from purchasing raw materials to grinding, mixing and packaging used to be done by both of them. Later in 2003 when money started pouring in, Ramdev made Acharya Balkrishna as head of the pharmacy. Today the pharmacy is run like a business venture having two dozen vaids to inspect patients by minute and prescribing medicines.

Nowruz is the name of the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by the Iranian peoples, along with some other ethno-linguistic groups, as the beginning of the New Year.
It has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin and the Balkans. It marks the first day of the first month (Farvardin) in the Iranian calendar.
Nowruz is the day of the vernal equinox, and marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It usually occurs on 21 March or the previous or following day, depending on where it is observed. The moment the sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year, and families gather together to observe the rituals.
Although having Iranian and religious Zoroastrian origins, Nowruz has been celebrated by people from diverse ethno-linguistic communities for thousands of years. It is a secular holiday for most celebrants that is enjoyed by people of several different faiths, but remains a holy day for Zoroastrians.
Although it is not clear whether Proto-Indo-Iranians celebrated a feast as the first day of the calendar, there are indications that Iranians may have observed the beginning of both autumn and spring, respectively related to the harvest and the sowing of seeds, for the celebration of the New Year. Mary Boyce and Frantz Grenet explain the traditions for seasonal festivals and comment: "It is possible that the splendor of the Babylonian festivities at this season led the Iranians to develop their own spring festival into an established New Year feast, with the name Navasarda "New Year" (a name which, though first attested through Middle Persian derivatives, is attributed to the Achaemenian period)." Since the communal observations of the ancient Iranians appear in general to have been a seasonal ones, and related to agriculture, "it is probable that they traditionally held festivals in both autumn and spring, to mark the major turning points of the natural year."
Nowruz is partly rooted in the tradition of Iranian religions, such as Mitraism and Zoroastrianism. In Mitraism, festivals had a deep linkage with the sun light. The Iranian festivals such as Mehrgan (autumnal equinox), Tirgan, and the eve of Chelle ye Zemestan (winter solstice) also had an origin in the Sun god (Surya). Among other ideas, Zoroastrianism is the first monotheistic religion that emphasizes broad concepts; such as the corresponding work of good and evil in the world, and the connection of humans to nature. Zoroastrian practices were dominant for much of the history of ancient Iran. In Zoroastrianism, the seven most important Zoroastrian festivals are the six Gahambar festivals and Nowruz, which occurs at the spring equinox. According to Mary Boyce, "It seems a reasonable surmise that Nowruz, the holiest of them all, with deep doctrinal significance, was founded by Zoroaster himself"; although there is no clear date of origin. Between sunset on the day of the sixth Gahambar and sunrise of Nowruz, Hamaspathmaedaya (later known, in its extended form, as Frawardinegan; and today known as Farvardigan) was celebrated. This and the Gahambars are the only festivals named in the surviving text of the Avesta.
The 10th century scholar Biruni, in his work Kitab al-Tafhim li Awa'il Sina'at al-Tanjim, provides a description of the calendar of various nations. Besides the Iranian calendar, various festivals of Greeks, Jews, Arabs, Sabians, and other nations are mentioned in the book. In the section on the Iran calendar, he mentions Nowruz, Sadeh, Tirgan, Mehrgan, the six Gahambars, Farvardigan, Bahmanja, Esfand Armaz and several other festivals. According to him, "It is the belief of the Iranians that Nowruz marks the first day when the universe started its motion." The Persian historian Gardizi, in his work titled Zayn al-Akhbār, under the section of the Zoroastrians festivals, mentions Nowruz (among other festivals) and specifically points out that Zoroaster highly emphasized the celebration of Nowruz and Mehrgan.

Minna Canth born Ulrika Wilhelmina Johnsson, 19 March 1844 – 12 May 1897) was a Finnish writer and social activist. Canth began to write while managing her family draper's shop and living as a widow raising seven children. Her work addresses issues of women's rights, particularly in the context of a prevailing culture she considered antithetical to permitting expression and realization of women's aspirations. Her play The Pastor's Family is her best known. In her time, she became a controversial figure, due to the asynchrony between her ideas and those of her time, and in part due to her strong advocacy for her point of view.
Minna Canth is the first woman to receive her own flag day in Finland, starting on 19 March 2007. It is also the day of social equality in Finland.
Canth stood out when there was public debate about women's rights. In 1885 a Bishop had argued that God's order required that women were not emancipated. The writer Gustaf af Geijerstam then argued that men could only aspire to one day have the purity of women because they were fundamentally different and this was the reason for prostitution and other immorality, Canth objected strongly to this argument as it meant that men could defend their poor morals by reference to their implicit shortcomings, whereas any women involved in prostitution would lack the same defence
How to Stop Snoring and Improve Your Health I will be honest with you, I snored. A lot. Snored so much that not only my wife complained, but she was also scared that I had sleep apnea. And I was scared too. I was so terrified by the idea that I would have to use a CPAP mask. I wasn’t ready for this; you know? So I continued snoring and had this feeling of being tired every day. I ignored it for a while, like all men do. But then my wife practically forced me to start using this horrible CPAP mask to breathe while I slept and treat the snoring. I hated the fact that I had to use it. Imagine having to set up a machine every time you go to bed. The noise. The discomfort. And more, imagine traveling with that (taking a CPAP mask on vacation shouldn’t be very pleasant). Anyway, I didn’t have any other option. Until now Truth to be told, I’m a bit stubborn. I didn’t want to solve my snoring problem for years. My wife started to get angry, but hey, I* I don’t listen to my own snoring when I sleep, so it didn’t really matter to me. Until the sleep apnea made me wake up (literally). I finally gave in and decided to research a bit. And then I finally found it. I didn’t just learn a lot about snoring and sleep apnea, but also found a genial solution that does not require a CPAP mask. So here’s what I found: To begin with, I learned that snoring is a serious problem and is an indicator of sleep apnea, which causes several health problems, such as: Acid reflux Frequently waking up to go to the bathroom Memory loss Stroke Depression Diabetes Heart attack So I continued my research and found a case study – and that changed my life. The university of Kochi in Japan discovered that using a simple jaw supporter is actually the easiest and most effective way to treat snoring. It’s better than CPAP masks... Better than sleeping with something in your nose... And obviously better than snoring. Should I try it? Are you kidding me? A simple chin strap? I decided to try it right away – I had nothing to lose. And then it WORKED. My snoring was completely healed. Simple as that. The chin strap (known as Anti-Snoring Solution) is a simple item, combined with advanced clinical trials, and the result is impressive. It works by holding your lower jaw and tongue, which prevents airway obstructions (this is the common cause of snoring and sleep apnea). Bottom Line: It really works! Yeah I know, this Anti-Snoring Solution isn’t the most beautiful thing in the world, but it’s a million times better than using a CPAP mask, and even my wife is happy with it. Plus, the material is lightweight and super comfortable. I don't even remember I'm using it. Thousands of people are already using the Anti-Snoring Solution to have a calm and good night of sleep. Now I can even have a really deep sleep – thanks to this simple chin strap that changed my life. A definitive cure for only Rs. 6,600! Anti-Snoring Solution is only available on this website. And better yet, they’re offering a “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” deal and it even has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You have nothing to lose, except for the snoring. If you want to stop snoring, try this.
